Position Description:

The University of South Carolina Upstate Division of Fine Arts & Communication Studies invites applications for a tenure track, assistant professor of art history with an emphasis in twentieth century or contemporary art. The successful candidate will be expected to teach survey and specialty courses to support the B.A. Art Studio/Graphic Design, the B.A. Art Education, and the Art History Minor. Responsibilities include coordinating the art history curriculum, advising a growing number of art majors, assist the Department in maintaining NASAD accreditation, establish a strong record of scholarship and creative activities, and perform service in support of the Department and University. Faculty position to teach on the Spartanburg and/or Greenville campus.

Required Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Art History. ABD candidates with planned completion dates before August 15, 2018 may also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience/Scholarship in twentieth century and/or contemporary art. Previous teaching experience.
