Job Description:  Full-time, nine-month, tenure track position beginning August, 2018. Successful applicant will teach courses in art history, including Survey of Art History 1 & 2, modern/contemporary art and Survey of Non-Western Art. Participation in the Master of Liberal Arts program is expected. Applicant must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, student advising, and university and community service. Applicant’s record should include evidence of scholarly and professional activities.

Preferred Qualifications: Previous teaching experience, experience/scholarship in the History of Graphic Design and/or contemporary art.

Department: The Henderson State University Department of Art offers three art degrees: Bachelor of Fine Art Studio; Bachelor of Fine Art Digital Art and Design; and Bachelor of Science in Education. The department offers minors in Art History, Digital Art, 2D Studio, 3D Studio and Photography. It serves an average of 110-120 majors and offers a total of 64 undergraduate and 19 graduate level courses. The department’s collegial, interconnected faculty includes seven tenured/tenure-track positions. Members of the faculty are expected to be active professionals who are committed to their own research/creative work, aimed at upholding the highest standards of effective undergraduate and graduate teaching and learning.
